I have added a few new items to my shop including Love Dragon costumes just in time for Valentine's Day. Also some new hand knits in baby sizes. I also have few items featured that would make great unique gifts for Valentine's Day.
Any business I receive from Humble Luna is a major blessing to my family and is extremely appreciated.

Time to relax.....

096
(Picture from a trip with friends to the Sandy River in Oxbow park earlier in the week)

Whew, that was a crazy month of sewing! I am so thankful for all the business I have had this month at HumbleLuna. 20% of my October sales will be donated to Whatchagonnado.org to help families with a child who is battling cancer. Grateful for all the support, and grateful I can make a difference for the organization.
I made over 30 costumes this month for my Etsy shop and have finally finished Solomon's homemade superman costume and helped Sophie alter a costume she found to fit her just right. So glad she didn't need a costume from scratch this year, I don't think I could have pulled it off. It was a last minute rush to get her costume ready for the Harvest festival at her school Friday night.
Solomon chose to be superman several weeks ago and I hunted all over for a plain blue pair of long underwear and a pair of tiny red breifs to go over the top. Then he decided he wanted to be a dragon, than a spider dragon then a bat, then after I showed him his finished costume he said "Ok, Fine mom I will be superman." Not that I was pushing the superman thing, I would prefer to make a more original costume.....this is my passion after all. But after so much sewing I am just happy that they have costumes at all at this point.
Check out the gnome and the turtle from years past.
Right now I am thankful for a little time off from the sewing machine. I am hoping to get out and enjoy this beautiful autumn out in the woods at some point this weekend.
Hope you all have a pleasant Autumn weekend!

October Giveaway!

Why not welcome my favorite month of the year with a giveaway?
Having a shop that focuses mainly on children's costumes, this is my super busy time of the year. I have been spending the last few days glued to the sewing machine for most of my waking hours trying to build up my inventory for the coming holiday season. So why not share some of the dragon tail love with my blog friends?
For the giveaway I am offering a green dragon tail costume with your choice of polka dot color. I will ship the costume before Halloween just in case your little one might want to trick or treat as a dragon. The tail also works as a dinosaur...maybe a crocodile or alligator as well.
There are four possible chances to win:
1. Simply leave a comment on this post....maybe tell me what your polka dot color preference would be, or what your child is dressing as for Halloween this year:)
2. Favorite my Etsy shop : Humbleluna.etsy.com
3. Follow my blog(if you already go go ahead and leave another comment:)
4. Like HumbleLuna on Facebook :http://www.facebook.com/pages/HumbleLuna/151654328204499
Go ahead and leave a comment for each that you chose to do.

Also 20% of my Etsy sales this month are going to a great cause, whatchagonnado.org, an organization that helps families with a child battling cancer. Please click the link in my sidebar for more information. What a great way to help other families and get a cute costume at the same time!
I will keep the Giveaway open until October 10th. Please make sure there is a link to you or e-mail address with your comment so I can contact you if you win:)

Happy October Friends, are you planning your Halloween costumes yet?

Oregon Country Fair 2009

Hello! The fair this year was wonderful. We all had a great time. I had been preparing for weeks to sell a few things at the fair but after the last minute trip planning and deciding to go a day early I just didn't have the time to make that happen this year. On the bright side I will have several new things on my Etsy shop in the very near future.
We camped at Quiet Camp this year which was quiet the first night...maybe only due to the rain outside. A really sweet couple camped next to us, they had two little girls who became instant friends with Sophie. They shared their pancakes and cocoa for breakfast, and the mama did Sophie's hair and painted her face for the fair. The perfect camping neighbors really...unlike the loud annoying teenagers on mushrooms on the other side(but that's another story).
We left a day early .....only to avoid a huge rainstorm on Sunday...I heard it was quite the muddy mess. Whew..

I loved the sink at our camp.
The only thing this picture needs is bubbles.

It was a long walk from camp to the gates.
The man-powered Hippypotamus.

It was the 40th year of the fair!Make way....

...make way...
....make way for the magic......
...of the dragon.

This cute lady painted many a boob.

Look, even Jimi Hendrix was there....
This is my favorite costume.

Finally, a little space to run free.
I love this sign....
