Yarn Along

764

Joining Ginny today for the Yarn Along.
I am knitting our new babe another knitted cocoon now that I know she is a girl and can use fun and pretty girly yarn colors. I made a unisex cocoon when I was still pregnant in dark olive greens and dusky blues and it just wasn't nearly as cute as I was hoping. The pattern is from the Summer 2011 Living Crafts magazine and is called "Eskimo Kiss Hooded Cocoon". I can't wait to do a photo shoot this weekend! I just love this sweet little knit.
I am still reading the Tommy Chong autobiography that I was reading during back in early March. It is slow going with reading these days.Kind of  a funny choice but I found it at the library when i was super overdue with the baby and needed a distraction. My friends and I were huge Cheech and Chong fans back in middle school and high school.
Also enjoying Feeding The Sheep  by Leda Schubert. It is a cute story about a little girl watchin her mom take care of the sheep and all the steps from shearing the wool to knitting her a new sweater. I love it and have pretty much stolen it from the library since I have renewed it so many times. I can't resist knitting related childrens books. I am sure I like it more than my son does.
What are you knitting these days?

I cannot resist books for children that involve yarn, knitting and crafting. It is true that I may like them more than they do! Such a sweet little cocoon. Also the wombs are great gifts for midwives.

Hey Heidi, congratulations on that beautiful baby girl!
Can't wait to see the cocoon, and I'd love to find me a copy of that book : )
Hope you get to painting on one of your bellycasts one day.

That yarn is fabulous! I made a bobble blanket for a friend's baby in a similar color and loved how it came out!

I have two little boys whom, of course, I am crazy about and yet, you'll still catch me browsing little girly stuff. I just can't help it - the colours and girly-ness of it all is a hard thing to resist! :)
That cocoon is the sweetest thing EVER. Will definitely pop back over to check it out.
Love your blog!

We recently read Feeding the Sheep from the library and loved it so much we found a used copy on Amazon to have around all the time. We also love Weaving the Rainbow and The Goat in the Rug. You might enjoy this post by Meg: http://sewliberated.typepad.com/sew_liberated/2012/03/sheepish.html
