My family and I went hiking this past Saturday in the Columbia River gorge at the Tom McCall Preserve just outside of Hood River, Oregon. It was amazingly beautiful and the spring wildflowers were at their peak. I have wanted to visit this place for many years and I am so glad we finally made it out there. I am so blessed to live in such a beautiful place.

Along the Lewis River...
We went to for a beautiful hike this past weekend along the Lewis River in Washington. We found a perfect place for a picnic and a short 1 mile hike along the River near Lucia Falls. It was stunning. I was in awe of the beauty of it, we even had sunshine. Along one part of the trail there were homes on the cliffs on the other side of the river. Now that would be amazing to wake up with a cup of tea, go out on and your back porch and see this.........

Catching up ...
Wow, I feel we have a lot of catching up to do. Posting on the old blog seems to have taken a backseat to.........well, life. I have been busy after all with the new baby and trying to find a new family rhythm. I am finding the transition from two to three children to be a little more challenging than when Solomon joined us. Now I have three children, all at totally different stages who all need to be parented differently. It is a juggling act and we have added a new ball, and I am not good at juggling, but I have faith that with some practice I will find the rhythm.
And it is a new season, new life everywhere, not just our new little soul.
I welcome the spring with open arms. A time for a fresh start and new beginnings.
In the meantime I wanted to share few moments of the last several weeks...
We took many walks in the woods...
...and in our neighborhood.
We made faerie ships and sailed them down the river...
and drew pictures in the sand.
We found treasures by the river too...
And I got a fun illustration gig, it was great to be covered in paint again.

One month old already!
I can't believe it has been a month already, could it be. The weeks since Nalah's birth have gone by so quickly. I can't believe it is April already, March where did you go?
I am working on a long involved post about her birth and the events that lead up to it. I was debating on if I should share our birth story as it was not the peaceful birth I had hoped for, but I think sharing it would be good for me. A way for me to reflect and make peace. I will be eternally grateful that it all turned out okay in the end and that I get to be a Mama one more time over.
