Sun puddles for Christmas

We were blessed with sunshine on Christmas. It was truly peaceful. Out of the many years we have spent the holiday season here in the Pacific Northwest I don't remember seeing the sun on Christmas day.
I was as happy as a small child would be to see snow.
I just sat in the dancing sun puddles, knitting away the afternoon as the spruce tree swayed in the wind outside. It was glorious.
I hope you are enjoying the simple gifts in your life too.

Knitting in progress

(clockwise from left:pants for Solomon,Tree garland, tiny mitten ornaments, hat for Solomon)

The holidays are coming, I have lots to do! Knitting is something that can't be rushed, unlike sewing or painting(which I have no problems speeding through). I wonder how some one as impatient as I am can find joy in something so tedious.
Maybe that is just it, it forces me to slow down and relax.

So Green

One of the things I really love about Oregon is that it is green ALL the time. Even in the middle of the winter.
Just beautiful!

A bit of knittin'....

I just HAD TO take a break from sewing dragon tails just long enough to knit a few projects. Sophie got a new pair of mittens from this pattern.
Solomon is sporting a pair of baby fingerless mitts, I have a ton of these made up for the craft show next weekend at Milagros. Sollie loves them and actually keeps them on... although one is missing now...........any way.
And Papa got a new hat from this pattern. . I think he likes it, he didn't take it off for days , he even slept in it. awe. He picked the yarn out too. It wasn't hard to get him to the yarn store once he knew it used to be a recording studio.
I am off to work on a more involved knitting project for the wee-est one. He is my favorite victim to knit for afterall as he is still to little to protest. ha, Ha, HA......(can you hear my evil laugh?)

Autumn adventures

It has been almost a month since I posted anything here. Our family is going through some changes, some good, some a little hard to get used to. I am not the kind of person who deals well with change. I should learn to, since things will always be changing...that is one certain thing about life.
It has also put things into perspective for me and I am greatful for all we do have, each other over everything else.
Nature is my church and spending time outside ALWAYS makes me feel better about everything. Here are a few pictures from our Autumn adventures.
