The Gift of Health....(or trying to look on the bright side)
Well, I got to spend my Birthday in bed this year, and the next day, and the day after that...
yup, I got the flu! We had thought of going to the coast for a few days and I am so glad we changed our minds or we would have been out a hundred bucks for the cabin, there is no way we would have made it. Solomon was the first to get sick with a fever, then Sophie and finally I got it the day before my Birthday. Sophie just wasn't getting any better and it turns out she has a double ear infection. She is much better today after getting some antibiotics.....back to her old energetic self, she even peeled herself away from PBS kids long enough to write a few letters to her Grandmas. I was getting really worried about her. Sollie has a good time tearing up the living room, knowing I couldn't do much to stop him. Here we are more than a week later and finally getting better.
I am trying to find the good things to report about our sick family week. We curled up in the sunny spots as often as we could, just to feel the sun on our faces.I finally got to read a book that I have been wanting to read for months, it was good (Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen). I made some good progress on a knitting project when my head stopped hurting. We had smoothies for almost every meal of the day(although it was quite difficult for Sollie to drink a smoothie with a stuffy nose). Solomon got lot of practice with his walking and is doing really great.I got a lot of time with my kids, lots of good cuddle time.
I left my house for the first time in a week today, I got as far as the basement to wash a load of diapers. I am starting to feel like myself again and am looking forward to having the strength to clean up all the damage we have done in the house over the last week.
I hope this post finds you all in good health.

He looks sweet and innocent.....
........but he's a little tornado. Ahh,well now life is a little more realistic these days. He was such an easy baby, it was just a matter of time really. And he is QUICK!I had just fed the cats and turned to brush my teeth BEFORE putting the cat food away...BIG mistake!
But he did realise that he made a HUGE MESS and he tried to help me pick it up....one piece at a time. This has inspired me...I should have a "Mess of the week"post!
